The Southern California Innovative Users Group is led by the Steering Committee who organizes the annual meeting. Annual meetings include a general presentation by Innovative staff as well as smaller sessions / presentations made by SCIUG members on various INNOPAC/Millennium related topics.
SCIUG is currently a small unincorporated not for profit group. It does not have a Tax ID number.
All staff in any of the Southern California or Nevada Innovative Libraries are welcome to register to attend the annual meetings.
Those interested in planning for future meetings may contact the current Chair, or any member of the Steering Committee.
Registration:
The registration deadline is Friday, October 5, 2007. The cost of the conference is $35.00 and payment should be received by Monday, October 8, 2007. We encourage the use of advance registration.

SCIUG supplies payment receipts to those who pay by personal check. The receipt can then be submitted to your Institution for personal reimbursement. Because SCIUG is not established as an official group, tax ID numbers and SSN numbers are not available to those who wish to pay by Institutional check. In addition, payment receipts are not generated for Institutional checks.
Registration for the meeting will take place in Founders Hall. Founders Hall is located at the front of campus overlooking Peace Lake.
About Soka University of America

Soka University of America, Aliso Viejo (SUA, Aliso Viejo) is a selective, independent, non-profit, co-educational, comprehensive institution of higher learning. The university offers a comparative study of Eastern and Western perspectives integrated across an interdisciplinary liberal arts curriculum. SUA serves both national and international students. Founded on the Buddhist principles of peace, human rights and the sanctity of life, SUA is open to students of all beliefs and is committed to diversity in its academic community. Soka University, Aliso Viejo opened in fall 2001 to its first 120 freshmen students. Ultimately, the university plans to serve 1,200 students. Maps and Directions
Maps and directions to Soka University of America can be found here at Google Maps. A word of caution for those who plan to drive on SR73. SR73 is a toll road which will require cash payment for those who do not already have an electronic toll road transponder.
Parking
SCIUG attendees should park in Lot A. Lot A overlooks Peace Lake and is located close to Founders Hall. Inform the parking kiosk attendant that you are attending a meeting in Founders Hall.
Lunch Menu
Lunch will be buffet style and served at the Soka Bistro. You can see an example of the types of foods here. The exact menu will not be posted until the week of the conference.

- Playing With “Matches”: Using Regular Expressions in Create Lists

Regular expressions are an underutilized tool that greatly extends the power and usefulness of Create Lists. Using the “matches” condition, it is possible to find patterns of data that cannot be isolated any other way. This presentation will cover a complete explanation of regular expression syntax. It will also provide several practical examples of their use, ranging from the simple to the more complex, and including some more recently developed ones. - Link+

This session will show how to use Windows-based scripting to automate tasks you perform on a regular basis, such as authority file loads, table-of-contents loads, loading Serials Solutions MARC records, and initializing backup tapes. - Media Management
